Wait, I qualify?

Yes. Use your W-2 as proof. (Although, if we're being SUPER SUPER technical, we are a staffing company, not a catering company, so there may be some pushback if someone is super duper technical, savvy, and checking. Can someone let me know if they've successfully used my W-2 so I can update this?)

Where do I get an appointment?

Here are some sites to register for an appointment:

Will I be required to get a vaccine before going to work?

It is likely.

There's a lot of discussions about this happening in the legal world. But just think about, say, polio or smallpox vaccines. An employer could easily require that so it could just as easily require any other vaccine. As Mr. Gostin, who directs a World Health Organization center on health law, said, “People have the right to take chances with their own health, but they absolutely do not have the right to endanger others.”

Per the EEOC, if you have a religious or medical exemptions, just let us know so we can file that.

Another aspect of this is simply my business model as a temporary staffing company. I am under a TON of pressure from my clients to do things their way. I also have to be careful of lawsuits that could come about as a result of the off-chance, freak, random incident where one of my unvaccinated staff infects a susceptible older person that then dies from COVID. Wowzers. I simply cannot take that chance. Because of these things, I always have to hold the highest bar due to these risks.

Oh wow! Are the jobs just flying in?

No, not really. It's still really, really slow. I got 2 dates in April, 3 dates in May, 1 in June...and they were all requests for one specific captain, so technically, I still don't have any work available, but I wanted to get y'all updated so we can jump right in when it's time.

Can I wait?

Sure! Just know that, if you end up getting the 2-shot dose, you'll get the first shot, wait 4 weeks, then get the second shot, then wait 2 more weeks before you're getting the best benefit. Point being: there's 6-8 weeks between when you start looking for an appointment and when you'll be fully vaccinated and safest. I'd suggest going sooner than later.

Aren't you scared of the experimental vaccine?

No. Not even a little bit.

I've done a ton, and I mean a TON, of research on this. The reason we didn't start vaccinating in 2020 wasn't because there wasn't a vaccine--it was because we were doing vaccine trials on safety and efficacy. The data is overwhelmingly positive on no side effects AND great results. We've jabbed more than 92 million doses of vaccine in the US already. The only serious side effect has been....preventing serious COVID.

That's fucking great news.

Are you going to get one?

Yes. Now that I've written this email and have started to see some movement in the event world, I'm on it! I'm looking for a vaccine now.

What do I do once I get vaccinated?

Once you've been vaccinated, please email Cindy from Alexander Staffing <assistant@alexanderstaffing.com> with your proof of vaccination so we can add it to your file.
